Flooring System for Ft. Huachuca Military Hangar
Flooring System for Military Hangar Installed with Ease
Armor-Rez Jet Deck 200 specially designed to meet strict requirements typical of aircraft maintenance hangars
Background:
Arizona Polymer Flooring teamed up with a contractor specializing in resinous flooring systems for military bases and Jaynes Construction to design a flooring system for a new, 40,000-square-foot hangar at the Fort Huachuca army base that would be used by the helicopter squadron to perform maintenance.
The Challenge:
Floors of an aircraft hangar must be able to handle exposure to impact, abrasion and chemicals, while still providing a light reflective and non-slip surface. Additionally, the flooring system must meet strict Unified Facilities Guide Specifications (UFSG) for military maintenance hangars.
The Solution:
APF helped the team develop a flooring system using Armor-Rez Jet Deck 200 as the base – a three-coat system engineered to satisfy UFGS requirements for military flooring systems, specifically aircraft maintenance hangars. It’s comprised of an epoxy primer, epoxy base coat and chemical-resistant urethane topcoat for superior abrasion resistance. Epoxy 400 and Polyurethane 100 helped provide a shiny finish ideal for a sleek and functional “Jet Deck.”
The Armor-Rez Jet Deck 200 System was approved for use without comment during the submittal phase – a major time-saver and nod to APF’s product formulation. Application went smoothly as well, and the project went off without a hitch – on budget and on time.
