APF is looking for a Production Chemist / Manager to manage our production department and quality control personnel. This position reports to the Vice President.
Position Summary:
Responsible for all aspects of production, quality control, research and development of new products and the implementation of new production and QC practices.
- Manage production team
- Facility maintenance
- Maintain compliance with environmental and safety regulations
- New formulations
- Improving existing formulations
- Schedule work flow
- Trouble shoot product / production issues
- Write product Technical Data sheets
- Write MSDS
Requirements:
The candidate for this position must be a creative self-starter with the ability to manage a team and work independently. Excellent verbal and written communications skills are a must.
- Candidate must have a BS in chemistry or chemical engineering
- A minimum of 5 years of “in plant” experience in the paint and coatings industry
- Experience formulating with epoxy and polyurethane chemistry
- Experience managing a team
- Trouble shoot product / production issues
- Write product technical data sheets
- Write material safety data sheets (MSDS)
- Knowledge of environmental and safety regulations
- Good documentation skills
- Prior experience with Sage PFW (Batch Master) a plus
