Anthony Gaffney

Technical Marketing Manager

 

Anthony Gaffney is a technical marketing manager at Arizona Polymer Flooring. He is responsible for the development of technical literature for new and existing products and systems, as well as the creation of technical training programs for the salesforce, contractors, distributors and specifiers. In addition, Anthony helps deliver “Train the Trainer Programs” for the APF salesforce and line employees, and assists in “E-training” the sales team, arming them with tools and resources to train the contractors and distributors on new and existing products and systems, specifications and application instructions.

 

Active in the industry since the 1980s, Anthony is well versed in all areas of the industry, having held a wide variety of positions including sales engineer, vice president of sales and marketing, and general manager. He has authored dozens of technical papers, including The Engineering Principles of Polymer Behavior as Determined by ASTM Tests; Selecting a Flooring Contractor; Understanding the Coefficient of Thermal Expansion of Dissimilar Building Materials or Why Construction Products Don’t Work … Together; and dozens more. 

 

Prior to joining APF, Anthony’s career had many highlights, including serving as a consultant, arbitrator and expert witness for owners, specifiers, general contractors and specialty contractors. He has been part of several high-profile projects, including resurfacing the Golden Gate Bridge, repairing cracks in dams, nuclear power plants and historic structures, as well as providing coatings and surfacings for thousands for commercial, industrial and institutional facilities.

 

Anthony earned a Bachelor of Science from Central Washington University. Further, he is trained by the consulting firm Strategic Eight for ISO 9000 Manufacturing, has worked with McKenzie & Associates on Management Reorganization Plans and Implementation, and has participated in several training programs for marketing and sales management.

 

Anthony plans to be active in: ASTM International formerly American Society for Testing of Materials, American Institute of Architects (AIA), Concrete Polishing Association of America (CPAA), International Concrete Repair Institute (ICRI) and Society of Protective Coatings (SSPC). Anthony is also a certified ICRI Slab Moisture Testing Technician. He has served as president of Polymer Coatings and Surfacing Institute (PCSI) and currently serves as a consultant to North American Construction Technology (NACT).

 

Outside of work, Anthony has been active in his community, where he served as a Marriage Encounter presenter and marriage counselor. He has also served as a director of his home owner association and assistant coach of his son’s Pop Warner Football team. Today he enjoys scuba diving, cooking, bike riding, kayaking, sailing and hanging out with his wife Debi and their six children and eight grandchildren.
